Student Certificate Information

1- VIA E-GOVERNMENT SYSTEM

- Student Certificate can be obtained through the e-government system (https://www.turkiye.gov.tr/yok-ogrenci-belgesi-sorgulama).

- The Student Certificate is electronically signed and is valid for all formal institutions and organizations. Since the document contains a barcode, the receiving institutions can verify the document and confirm its authenticity.

- To obtain a Student Certificate through the online system, an e-government password is needed. It can be obtained from the post office with the identification card.


2- VIA STUDENT.METU.EDU.TR ADDRESS

You may also request a Student Certificate online and download it as a PDF using the "Student Certificate Request Program" available at student.metu.edu.tr.


Who can use this program?

- The Student Certificate can be obtained by students with the semester status of registered or on leave.

- You have to make your application with your METU student ID number and e-mail account (Example: e12345atmetu.edu.tr).

- Your password is the one defined for your METU student ID number.

- If you have any problem with your accounts/passwords, you may use the METU User Account Management webpage at https://useraccount.metu.edu.tr.


How can I receive my Student Certificate?

- To obtain a student certificate with a wet signature, you need to send an email to nccregatmetu.edu.tr. Student certificates are prepared within 2 working days.

- A Student Certificate without any extra explanation is instantly generated by the system with a QR code and made available for download as a PDF file.

- The document is valid for one month. Within this period, it can be verified through the QR code.

- If a new document is requested or generated by the system before the existing document’s validity period expires, the old document remains valid for verification. However, the verifying institution will be notified of the issuance of a more current document.

- For a Student Certificate with specific notes (e.g., scholarship, disciplinary status, tuition fee payment, grading system, English Proficiency Exam result, etc.), students must click the “Student Certificate Request” link and complete the relevant fields.

- Student Certificate requests that include specific notes are submitted through the system to the Registrar's Office for approval and processing.

- After the Registrar's Office processes the request, the system generates the document with a QR code for verification, and the student is notified via e-mail that the PDF is available for download through the application program.

- Students can track the status of their requests via the “Student Certificate Request" link in the application program.


FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is it possible to make multiple applications?

- If you have submitted a request for a Student Certificate with specific notes, you cannot submit a new request until the Registrar's Office has completed the approval and document preparation process.

- If you have requested a standard Student Certificate (without additional details), yes, you can submit a new request. If a new document is requested or generated by the system before the validity period of an existing document expires, the old document remains valid for verification. However, the institution verifying the document will be notified about the issuance of a more current document.

Can I submit the same PDF file to multiple institutions?

Yes, you can. You do not need to submit separate requests for each institution. During its validity period, the document may be downloaded multiple times and provided to multiple institutions.

I have downloaded the Student Certificate without a specific note. But I want to get a new one with specific notes. What should I do?

You may make a new request by clicking the "New Application" button.

When will my Student Certificate with a specific note be ready to download?

You may download your document within 2 working days following your application. The status of your document can be tracked via the “Student Certificate Request" link in the application program and through the e-mail notification sent by the Registrar's Office.

I want to get a Student Certificate. What should I do?
