SUMMER SCHOOL 2007 – 2008 TUITION AND DORMITORY FEES

As it was announced with our email message of April 28, 2008, Summer School tuition fee will be 200 YTL per credit for courses offered at our campus, whereas METU NCC students will pay 90 YTL per credit for courses taken in Ankara. For courses to be offered at our campus, it is not possible to enroll at the Main Campus in Ankara.

Dormitory fee for summer term is 500 YTL per person for rooms for 4 students and will be 800 YTL per person for rooms for 2 students.

INFORMATION ABOUT  THE SUMMER SCHOOL, and  REGISTRATION:

A) General Information:

The list of courses planned to be offered at our campus is attached to this announcement message. Each course from this list is subject to be offered at the campus, provided that sufficient number of students pay the tuition fee and enroll to the course. Anyone wishing to take a course from the list might register independent of any previous stage application for the course. Please note that according to the related rules a student will not be allowed to enrol more than 2 courses and should not exceed 8 credits in total.

Note: You may register to a summer course in Ankara only if:

i.)The course you have requested is in the list of courses to be offered, you have paid the tuition for it and applied to us through email. The administration found out that there were not sufficient applications to offer the course. Then, the registrar’s office will check the availability of quotas in Ankara METU Campus for that specific course and depending on the result you will be allowed to register (those who have indicated the course in the first application stage will have the priority).

ii.)The course does not exist in our list of courses to be offered at NCC Campus: If there are available quotas in Ankara Main Campus and you have informed us at the previous planning stage of Summer School, then you may register to  this course in Ankara.

!It is not possible to enroll in a course in Ankara, if the course is offered by METU NCC.

B) Pre - registration procedures

b.1) Pre-Registration:

Following the announcement of 2007 – 2008 Spring Semester grades, students must pay the tuition fee for the course which they want to enroll for the Summer Term 2007 – 2008.

Please remember that the total number of credits enrolled should not  exceed 8.

Fees of the enrolled courses will be calculated  as the following two examples indicate:

1- MAT 120 (4-2)5     (METU-NCC) fee:

5 credits x 200 YTL = 1000 YTL   

 2- MUS 231 (3-0)3    (METU-ANKARA) fee:

 3 credits x 90 YTL = 270 YTL       

Deadline for tuition payments: June 27, 2008

Bank Account Details: (T.İş Bank, Kalkanlı METU-NCC branch, 6822 , Account No:10583)

Important: Please make sure that your name, student number and program is written on the bank receipt of tuition payment.

Last step: After your payment, immediately send an email to nccreg@metu.edu.tr with information of which course(s) you have paid for,(eeg:, MAT 120 PLEASE WRITE THE CODE OF THE COURSE ALONGSIDE WITH THE TITLE OF THE COURSE)) your name, program, year and your student ID number.

Deadline for email messages: June 27, 2008

Please also indicate if you will be willing to take the course in Ankara Main Campus (if it is offered) in case that the course could not be offered on our campus

IMPORTANT NOTE: Students who have not responded to the procedures given above will not be allowed to register to any course (NCC Campus or Main Campus) for the summer school.

b.2) Registration:

After evaluation and verification of your email applications, the courses to be offered at our campus or courses available at Ankara Main Campus will be announced in our web site. Eligible students who are accepted to the course(s) will be registered to the courses by the Registrar’s Office and the students who are not eligible for  the course(s) which  they applied for (prerequisite, credit limit, 3 semester count rule, etc) will not be allowed to enroll and will be informed with email messages from the Registrar’s Office.

b.3) Attendance and conditions for reimbursement of the tuition fee

Referring to cases such as the course is not offered either on NCC Campus or at Ankara Main Campus, or the student is not eligible to be registered to that specific course, tuition fee which is paid will be refunded to the student after she/he applies by providing necessary information and bank receipts of summer school tuition payment to the Registrar’s Office. No reimbursement is available if the student does not attend to the course(s) she/he has registered for, unless the provision of a documented obstacle or illness acceptable to President’s office. 

OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:

• Course registration for students of the Summer School 2007 – 2008 will be completed by the Registrar’s Office. Therefore, METU NCC students should not attempt to register to any course through SAIS access.

• Undergraduate summer school courses and exams, including finals are to be held between dates July 7^th–August 15^th 2008.
