METU Graduation Ceremony Held in Ankara.
The METU graduation ceremony was held on the Ankara Campus on 28 June 2009 with a huge celebration. METU NCC 3rd term graduates also received their diplomas at
the graduation ceremony in Ankara. The rain, which started just before the ceremony, caused some concern for the students, academicians and families. In his
speech, METU President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Acar said that METU graduates are always successful and responsible individuals who have the qualities of leadership and
being able to make a difference. He also added that METU graduates were educated to defend secularism and the rule of law, and respect human rights and basic
freedoms. As the ceremony proceeded, together with the students with the highest CGPA from each department of METU, Aras Erkara and Barış Korkmazyörür, who have
the highest CGPA at METU NCC, were awarded their certificates of high honor by METU NCC President Prof. Dr. Turgut Tümer. At the end of the ceremony, the 45
students who graduated from the programs of Business Administration, Business Administration (SUNY), Economics, Political Science and International Relations,
Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering received their diplomas.
