POLITICAL
SCIENCE AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS PROGRAM
Within the context of
globalization, it has been an increasingly tremendous need to understand the
dynamics of ever-changing world and the activities of numerous actors involved
and to resolve the problems and conflicts resulting from this process. In this
regard, it is obligatory for the individuals, organizations, states and for
every level of international system to be eligible to understand and explain
the aforementioned political and administrative processes. The discipline of
Political Science and International Relations, which has been structured
departing from this need, analyses the processes by which resources are
allocated and values are developed and discussed within a political system and the
interaction of states, international organizations and other actors in this
process. The discipline, on one hand, deals with political ideas and ideologies
relating to issues like political justice, ideologies and political ideas such
as liberty, democracy, morality, and equality while, on the other hand,
analyzing how and to what extent these concepts effect the structures such as
states, governments and international organizations.
The
Aim of the Program
Political Science and
International Relations Undergraduate Program has been designed as an
interdisciplinary program serving to the needs of students who are interested
in contemporary political, economic and social problems. This four-year program
aiming to analyze the developments at both national and international realms
involves must and elective courses. It is constructed on the idea of
scrutinizing the political and economic processes at most crucial regions of
the world such as Mediterranean Region via the elective courses of a very wide
spectrum from a historical perspective. It is aimed that both the theoretical
and methodological problems and policy-making processes are discussed at the
lectures.
