PRESS RELEASE 23.05.07 / Kalkanlı / Güzelyurt "METU Day" Celebrations METU Day activities had started on 22nd of May 2007, Tuesday at 19.00 hours at Culture and Convention Center. METU Day activities on METU Northern Cyprus Campus started with President Prof. Dr. Turgut TÜMER's speech, following METU's President Prof. Dr. Ural AKBULUT's speech. Prof. Dr. AKLBULUT in his speech emphasized that METU NCC is in great progress and achievement in a short period of time and also with establishment of Museum of Science and Technology as well as the Sports Complex, the indoors meter square of the Campus has reached 100,000 meters square. Prof. Akbulut continued with the quotas opening this year by METU especially for the Turkish Cypriot prospective students and added that there will be 33 openings in addition to the regular prospective quotas by the ÖSS examination. The event continued with the concerts organized by METU Symphony Orchestra and Ankara State Opera and Ballet, afterwards with a cocktail at Culture and Convention Center. METU Day Celebration eventually took place in Ankara on the 25th of May, Friday.
